when i was a tot my ma used to get matt, maria and i in front of the window at the start of the day, open the curtains and say "good morning world!". I still want to be the first person to welcome in each new day. while this does have it drawbacks (i haven't yet met the woman who shares my 4 am proclivities) it does gain me much needed free hours during each day.
spent yesterday with brady couch shopping, hanging with peter and his lovely new woman friend Karen and her son Julian (kick ass little kid!), and generally being lazy. fell asleep in the middle of Charlie's angels after watching the Tao of Steve for the second time in less than a week. I made brady watch it (TOS.. thanks for the recommendation Dave) because the humor struck so close to home. Hilarious movie, though it did make me squirm a bit.
So Jen is gone. Half way around the world. I am sad, but a little relieved. The extended weeklong goodbye was a little trying on me. We had such a nice drive down the coast, but that little niggling voice in the back of my head kept reminding me that she would be gone in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 days.....which put quite a grey cloud over everything.
today... shit.
i should work. a sentiment that would get me smacked by my friends. I am finishing up laundry started yesterday. drinking tangerine juice and eating toast with marmite (yum... bizarre food fetish akin to my natto lust). a snowboarding trip is in the works by sr. maxy and zach... not sure if i have the gumption to go get sore but i may... I am the homebody when i can these days. Books, TV, and the dreamy internet are my friends. I spent a couple hrs over the last couple days creating a book wishlist for myself... not so that I could refer people to it, but so that i could set myself up with a reading list that saves me pondering (what do i want to read) time. I am trying to complete my James Laughlin/Hayden Carruth collection, finding a few gems by Eduardo Galeno that I don't have and some other assorted stuff. I really need to update my book list on sneakyfreak.
soon soon. so many shoulds.
i am happy in my lonesome house.
