the haps. march 08.
Henry has a strep throat. Fortunately we were able to make it to the doctors on first full day of fevers and we got him on antibiotics. it has been a tough run even with that. He hasn't been able to eat, swallow water or nurse without crying in pain from in his swallowing mechanisms. He wakes up crying. It has been miserable. In spite of this, he is still a positive little guy. Trying to snuggle in with Lulu and being his normal goofball self, just punctuated with bouts of misery.
Linda dad is out visiting the exotic NW. Henry has been bringing little things to grandpa. Books, chalk, toys... shy gifts and he'll go get something else. Linda and I have been taking turns escape our sick house to go do fun things with he Pop. He and I got some salmon (and more than a little bit of salmon jerky) for dinner last night at Pike's Place. He had fun checking out the mountains of produce and daffodils, which make the market radiant even on a cloudy day in March. We also have been meeting for greasy spoon breakfast before work (for me) a tradition I enjoy. We are going to try be's or the easy street on this fine workless sunday time-jump started morning.
My ma, Grandma Tori, also came over for dinner last night. A telephone call diverted her on her way home from Matt and Cathy's where she was chaperoning Matt, Caity and Christopher at a school carnival and she came over for BBQ aforementioned freshie fresh salmon dinner. Linda made yummy fried fennel, smashed pepper on the salmon. mmm. Little sick Henry jumped on his Grandma's lap and stayed put for most of the evening. It had been about 3 weeks since we have seen ma, and he was psyched to see her. Snuggled right in.
Linda is lovely these days. She is going to yoga (Never enough!) and sometimes working out with Auntie Erica. She is teaching out little guy to have good tastes in books and music and how to dance. She is a kickass mom. Henry scored.
and me. The turtles are all done hibernating and are outside. Dandelions are back in season and always in style for the reptilian quotient of the Peters household. I finished ripping out the carpet downstairs. Now negotiating the decision of how and when to refinish the lower half of our house. My work is the usual dips and trips, negotiations and satisfactions. Lulu and I still get out on our long morning walks. Everything is kind of rose colored with our little guy around. These are happy times.
